Billing & subscriptions

Your organization subscribes to one plan. The plan sets your monthly credit allowance, and one subscription covers every HANK service: Codesets, ClaimCleaner, Scholar, ARSE, Payer Policy Manager, KRAC, SafeHarbor, MedicalNotes, and Docs.

Plans

Plans are named by their credit multiplier (1x, 5x, 15x, 30x, 75x, 500x, 2,500x). A higher multiplier gives a larger monthly credit allowance. Each plan has a monthly and an annual price. See the current plans and prices on Billing.

Subscribe, upgrade, downgrade, cancel

  • Subscribe on Billing. Payment runs through Stripe Checkout. We never see or store your card number.
  • Change your plan on Billing, in the console. An upgrade applies immediately, and Stripe prorates the difference for the rest of the current period. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the current period, so you keep the allowance you already paid for.
  • Use the Manage billing portal for payment methods, invoices, receipts, and cancellation.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. We do not refund partial periods. When a paid subscription ends, your organization returns to the Free tier.
  • Public plans and prices are listed at Pricing.

Enterprise

The plans above, and the Business Associate Agreement in the console, are offered on a self-service, non-negotiable basis. Contact [email protected] about an Enterprise agreement if your organization needs a higher limitation of liability, custom indemnities, a Data Processing Addendum, service-level commitments, invoicing instead of card payment, or custom BAA terms.

When you use all of your credits

When your organization reaches 100% of its allowance, API calls return 402 until the period resets or you upgrade. Two options keep work running:

  • Upgrade your plan on Billing. The new allowance applies immediately.
  • Pay-as-you-go overage (optional, off by default). An organization admin can turn it on in the billing settings and MUST set a monthly spend cap. Usage past your allowance is then billed per credit at the overage rate until the cap is reached, after which calls return 402 again.

We email your organization contact when usage approaches the allowance and when requests are paused at the limit.

PHI and the BAA

Plans at the qualifying tier and above can sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) to send protected health information (PHI). See PHI & the BAA. Coverage is tied to your subscription tier: if the subscription drops below the qualifying tier, PHI authorization suspends automatically and we notify your administrators.
